Is it the father's responsiblity to pickup and return child from visitation?

when father picks up and returns child from visitation should i have to help on either end? Isnt it his responsibility? he lives 100 miles away which was his choice. what is the law in this matter? there is no formal arrangement

if you haven't gotten a divorce and have no divorce decree it is both party's responsibility. how ever remember this is your child you should want to do what it takes to make him/her happy. Be the bigger person and lead by example. this world needs more of that. or sit down and talk about this, that is if he is not a raving loon.
