People deal with depression and death differently. I take meds for my depression, and I've also lost my eighteen year old nephew in a car accident a year ago, we were very close, and to top it off I'm a recovering drug addict. I've been addicted to meth and marijuana. My opinion is you need to seek professional help and also pray to the man upstairs for peace.

People deal with depression different. And losing someone you love in dead can make it so much harder. Some cases it might be wise to seek professional help. It is very important that they take care of themselves physically. A healthful diet and some exercise may be helpful. Make sure they get needed rest. Reading the bible can help fill their minds with consoling words and sustaining thoughts. Some scriptures that are encouraging is Psalm 55:22; Revelation 21:4; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 1 Peter 5:7. The bible does promise at Isaiah 33:24 that there will be a time when "no resident will say I am sick. A wonderful website that brings out the wonderful hope for the future is If you can look up those scriptures they are truly encouraging. If you do not have a bible you can download one for free on that site.

I have been suffering with depression for many years. I lost my mother in death a little over 2 years ago. It was so hard for me. I was there at the hospital with her as she took her last breath. Knowing what the bible teaches about death certainly helped me. Ecclesiastes 9 vs 5 says "the dead are conscious of nothing at all" John 5 vs 28 says "those in the grave will hear Jesus voice and come out" Revelation 21 vss 3-5 says "God will wipe all tears from our eyes and death will be no more". My mother is in a peaceful sleep like condition awaiting a resurrection. She is no longer in pain, she has no worries, no fears. Right now I know that depression and death is something many have to deal with, but soon Isaiah 33 vs 24 will be fulfilled, there it says "no one will say I am sick". Having a good relationship with God, who comforts us ,and comfort from good friends is a tremendous help Yes, soon Gods Kingdom will bring an end to this old wicked world with all its problems, and usher in a new world with no crime no violence no wars no injustice no depression or other illnesses (physical and mental ), even death will be no more.
