I have a dolmar chainsaw and it sounds and runs fine until i go to start cutting wood.

as soon as i start to cut it bogs down and stalls. i can restart it with minimal effort and then the same thing occurs. is it possibly a carburerator issue or something else. i have replaced the spark plug and it did not help.

What model of Dolmar is it? If its the 5100, its an amazing saw, but notorious for being set lean. If you run it while it's lean, you could fry your piston/carb.

Most likely you're stalling because of a fuel issue (carb related, probably) but trying to adjust that carb without knowing what you're doing could burn up your saw. Take it to your local dealer & have them take a look - carb adjustments are usually about $20 around here.
