Is there anyway to check my home's history?

My aunt is having very strange activity at her new home. Is there anyway we can check her house history? Like previous owners... etc? She's checked at the local Library and couldn't find anything about her house. Can someone help us? Oh and we live in Louisiana!

The history you're looking for is called an "Abstract of Title" and it's available thru any title attorney and there is always a fee attached to cover the time spent in researching the property at your local county court house.

Now, because these land records are all Public records, you could just go do it yourself, just plan on spending 4-8 hours there so you do a thorough job.
