Well for starters, tire chains only do so much. They're not some miracle answer to solve all skidding problems, they just help reduce them. Also, try driving a little more slowly, and make sure your 4 wheel drive is indeed turned on. You have no idea how many times I've seen people think it's on when it really wasn't. Also, you should check the wear on your tires. The trick to doing this is to take a penny and put it into the tread on the tire. Make sure the top of Lincoln's head is pointing towards the axel. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, then you need new tires. Lastly, drive a little slower. Fact is, in risky weather, you gotta slow down.
