A 32 year old man shows interest in a beautiful single mom by teexting short messages almost daily. The girl frequently gives hints that she would like to take it further, but he ignores these hints , but continues contact and rarely will show up with a short visit.New Years eve he spent with his 70 year old parents, when he could have had a date.Said he was engaged once but was never married.He is accomplished in the military, but seems to have no other life.By different things he says he seems to want to make it clear that he likes women, he is thoughtful and respectful. It's possible that she's just not picking up on your hints, some people just aren't good with subtlety. It's also possible that he has commitment issues, like he might be afraid of getting hurt. You said he said he was once engaged, maybe that's left him with some emotional baggage. Or lilmissnisi may be right, he may just be trying to get you in bed. I mean yeah he's been at you for months, but I've had someone pretending to care about me for almost a whole year when in the end I was just used anyways.

It appears as the only thing he wants is to text. There is no way you make him do something he doesn't want or to make him do something you want. Best to admit this is only a texting friendship.

I believe coming from a man's stand point here, that he has some baggage somewhere, maybe want's nothing but sex, but could be just not ready to settle down with just one woman. Maybe when he was engaged it was bad enough that he can't see himself settled down with just one when he can have the whole lot. Who's to say your not the only one thinking this same thing...
