If you put 410 in your car you're asking for some real trouble. Why not try using what it's supposed to use, like r-12 or r-134a. Neither will hurt your inside coil, the evaporator, or the outside coil, the condensor. With the new oils, which you have to change in your compressor, which you need to remove and drain the old oil from and meaure so you can replace it with the newer oils for 134a freon, you should be ok just remember to properly evacuate your system and check for leaks, new gaskets for the compressor lines will be needed, and pull the system down to at least 8lb of negative pressure and hold it for 10 minutes, then gradually add the new freon, either r-12 or 134a, until the pressue equals @20 lbs, and start your engine with the a/c on and finish the recharge until the guage reads between 35 and 50 lbs, depending on what you drive (for 134a only - r-12 is less).

These instructions are basic but remember to use freon (Liquid or Gas) for your car. Most imports use Gas and US cars use Liquid on almost all cars and light trucks up to 93. Yours is older than that.
