Pros: Since beaver fur hats were a fad in Europe, and the first nations had a lot of beaver pelts, Europeans gained a large profit from mercantilism. Later on Europeans took advantage of the fur trade, and found ways of taking control and power from the natives. Always remember power,control,co-operation,conflict,and decision making. For example: New France only gave rifles to Hurons who were converted to Christianity and were taught French. Since Hurons were desperate of rifles, and they had no choice or else they wouldn't have any defense against the British. By converting them and teaching them their language they get more power, and they also had control of the Hurons so they wouldn't fight New France.

Cons: Europeans had a lot of conflict with each other.Thats about it. It's more of a profit for Europeans, bad for the natives.

Hope this helped wendi!
