Fought for 4 yrs., after Southern Family "POE Insurance" was forced out of Florida and Citizens Ins. was assigned to me. Poe closed my claim when they left town. Took me 5 months to reopen my claim. It takes time to replace everything I lost. Not something you can do overnite. I started with A/C receipt, not pd. $4500. Was told they didn't want receipts, just list/money owed. Sent them what I could and told them it would take time. Think about buying all new furniture, clothes, etc. So many people got involved and ended with a mess and no money. After Hurricane hit my house, it had to be totally gutted inside and garage. I rented a house for 2 yrs, then had to move back into an unfinished house. My Insurance ran out for my rent. Had 100% coverage for inside, Lost 99% of everything. Just put in a kit/09,my IRA. With all my paperwork, proved they still owed to me about 65,000. Lawyers said, time ran out and rec'd no help. I'm disabled and do not pay taxes, this yr will have to file because I took out what was left in my IRA, lost 1/2 of it. Yes, I can offset IRA taxes due to Hurricane Disaster, but can't receive any money. Help/Suggestions?
