My heart rate is very high when working out, is this normal or dangerous?

When I do aerobic work outs my heart rate gets to a high of 181 almost every work out. When I get off the machine and walk across the gym to sit and stretch, my recovery heart rate is about 120 in a matter or minutes. How can I get my heart rate lower and is it dangerous to be this high? I don't feel overly exerted or feel like I'm going to pass out. Should I be concerned about this?

Uhhhhhhhh, that's how aerobic exercises work... The idea is your heart rate increases, and you breath hard in order to build up stamina and burn off fat. You'll be fine. If you're really concerned about it, then just cut down on your routine.

I'm 46 yrs old, female, work out often, muscular but could lose about 15 lbs. My heart rate goes very high very quickly, I can get up to 212! Usually get about 185 on a hard run. I always knew I had a fast heart rate but a HRMonitor confirmed it. I've been monitoring my HR for over a year and the high rate is not "false".
I feel fine, recover quickly and therefore don't worry about it too much. BTW I have always had very low blood pressure. I wonder if they are inversely proportional?
