There was an old movie about kids who were more or less orphans, who had forts one dies of a cold

There is an old movie 60"S about a bunch of orphans more or less who lived I believe in england, they had this old abandonded lot that they turned into a fort, and had like battles with other local gangs I guess. One of the main kids gets sick from phenomnea and dies. The end scene is this old man who they hate walikg down the street and the kids following the old man has a limp and the kids start to imitate his walk. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS MOVIE????
