Should mom be contacting daughters boyfriend?

I recently found out that my wife has been calling and texting our daughters boyfriend. I find it a little weird that a 30 year old would be contacting her daughters 14 year old boyfrind. He will call or text saying goodmorning or goodnight, but alot of the texting is started by her. Could this be a problem?

That's a little weird. I mean I've had plenty of conversations with girlfriends parents, but it's always just been casual talk during the day on like AIM, but texting "good morning" and "good night" is bordering a concern. I'd sit down and talk it out with her.

It is kinda weird but maybe he being polite who knows as Oni said sit down and talk with her, if you trust her then you would think there is nothing wrong with but yea it is a concern since its the daughters boyfriend...

I find that a little weird too. I mean, it is her daughter's boyfreind - he could just be being freindly ? Since she starts most of the conversations it could be leading to something illegal .. not to mention creepy. Talk to her about it.

Dear asst3500,

i agree its weird, but you got to understand something here.

there is huge age gap.... may be you wife is normal towards text's .. but this 14 yr TEEN kid might be growing an infatuation towards your wife or the opposite situation .

talk your wife first b'coz getting kids involved in here could make things more complicated and embarrassing unnecessarily for you, wife and your daughter!
