we are trying to locate it so we can take it out, & the search engines aren't being very helpful. we need to take it out so we can re-program it. help would be lovely :]

Why do you want to re-program it? If you don't know where it is, I question if you even know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing, I urge you to not try this, because you can screw it up pretty bad, and it won't be easy to find someone who will be willing to fix it because you will have screwed it up yourself...
