IT's what you get when you don't change your tampons, and sanitary pads frequently while your time of the month.

As Anonymous said, it's when you don't change your tampons or maxipads frequently enough when you're on your period. I've also heard that if you have a light flow, but use a heavy flow tampon that it can also cause this for some reason. Not too sure on the details, so I don't really know why or anything, but it's just what I heard through word of mouth.
