What could be wrong with my light

ok my light in my kitchen comes on and goes off. when i turn the light switch on only one light comes on but when i move the light it works but after i turn the switch off and then turn it back on the light is off again and it sometimes flickers on and off. what should i do and what could possibly be wrong with it.

There's a short in the wiring. You should go out to your breaker or fuse box, cut the electricity to your whole kitchen, get up on a ladder, carefully remove the bulb, carefully detach the fixture from your ceiling, and with a flash light, carefully examine the wiring. You're looking for any spots that have open wires touching each other. Also check behind the light switch, and if it's in neither place, then it may just be somewhere in the wall or ceiling in which case you should just call an electrician. If you do find the short, wrap all exposed wiring SEPARATELY with electrical tape to keep the wires from shorting.
