Have there been any recalls on Mercury Mountaineers for the 2007 models?

Has anyone experienced a problem with the car accelerating and not being able to stop the vehicle when breaking? Did anyone experience a problem with floor mats causing the accelerator pedal to accelerate upon breaking?

If the floor mats are the issue, then just remove them. The only purpose for floor mats is to keep the real floor of the car from getting dirty. Like sheets on a mattress.
