What are 3 reasons why Americans moved west?

1) Expansion. As the population grew, we needed more space to spread out in.
2) Manifest Destiny. Americans at the time felt that it was their god given right (and some dispute that it was god's will) to move West.
3) For the sake of exploration. Nobody knew what was west at the time. Americans ventured west to map the land, and to see what was out there.

1) bECAUSE OF THE GOLDRUSH

1. Economic Depression. People wanted more/better jobs.
2. Exodusters. African American's who moved to Kansas to live in all black towns, planned and built. They were made to escape discrimination, the KKK for example.
3. Room for farming and agriculture. They needed space for population too.
4. Gold Rush.
