A 20 kilogram mass moving at a speed of 3.0 meters per second is stopped by a constant force of 15 newtons. how many seconds must the force act on the mass to stop it?

F=ma
or, 15=20*a
so, a=3/4
now we keep a=-3/4 since the acceleration is positive in the direction of force applied but negative in the direction of velocity.
also,
a=(v-u)/t
or, -3/4=(0-3)/t {v=0 since the body finally comes 2 rest}
or, t=(-3/-3)*4
so, t=4 sec
