My credit card is overdue but I never got a statement; PLEASE HELP

I did not receive a statement; now I'm one-day overdue. And this would be my first. I just paid it. I never got a statement and now I have been hit with $15 late fee and a finance charge. Is this my fault? Can I be charged if I didn't receive a statement?
