1. While at work, you see a colleague struggling with a task that could clearly be done more efficiently and effectively with a few changes. However, you are working on a project that requires all your attention. If you offer your colleague help, it may cause you to miss your deadline. If you don’t, it is possible that your colleague may fail their task. How would you handle the situation? Why did you choose to handle the situation this way? What are the pros and cons of your approach?

You are commended for caring about your colleague needing help. Have you discussed this with your supervisor of ways that the job could be done more efficiently? If you haven't and would rather not, then I would speak to your colleague outside of the workplace on how he could do these task more efficiently. Assuming that he would be receptive to your input. If not, then you don't want to put yourself in the position of missing your deadline in your position.
If you do none of the above, advise him to ask for help or if you have office meetings on ways to improve the office, this might be something you would want to consider bringing up. Otherwise, you need to focus on your job.
