Question about GAL in custody case?
The GAL for the custody case of my child. Will not return my phone calls. She has been to my house one time since April. She is not very informative about anything. I ask her to do something she said she will and 2 months later. She has done nothing. She didn't even call the people she said she was going to. Should I write a letter to the court about her not doing what I paid her to do. I filed for full custody of my daughter. Who has been in the care of another family member for 2 years. Don't be rude I just wanted some advise about the GAL
They appointed a GAL back in Feb 09. I left my daughter with my mother 2 years ago Since i did not have a job or a home and I couldnt support her. My aunt now has legal custody.
I also have a lawyer who has done nothing. Will not take this back to court or anything. He said it takes time. I have had supervised visits for a year and a half now I do not do drugs. I am a full time college student and I have done everything the court asked me to do. I also have a 16 month old son who I have custody of lives with me and I take care of him.
I know the GAL is for my daughter. The GAL is not doing her job though she has not seem my daughter since before court in September. We do not have a court hearing anytime soon. My lawyer said there is no need to go to court right now. When I think there is. If nothing is submitted to the court by 4/4/10 then the case is dismissed. I think this is what they are trying to do. Can I file a custody motion again? Even if I have a lawyer I paid for my lawyer the court would not appoint me one.
