What is the difference between monotheism and polytheism

The prefix mono means one, where poly means more than one. Monotheism is like Christianity and Judaism, where polytheism is like the ancient Roman, ancient Greek, ancient Egyptian, and Norse religions.

One god or lots of gods in other words.

Monotheism bekieves in only one god while Polytheism believes in many gods.
