What is DNS?

I want to know what's a DNS server?

DomainNameService or something like that. It enables your computer to convert domain names to IP-addresses like f.ex. http://www.ehelp.com/blabla to --> http://208.43.157.250/blabla. The IP address is like an address on a post card pointing to a computer instead of a house, what happens after the "/" is a lookup in to that computer. The http:// part is realy just like saying "I´m going to speek spanish now" you could use f.ex. ftp:// or telnet://
