My HP printer says its paused?

But I do not have it on pause,i just installed it and everything seems to be right until I try to print,it comes out as the first page that you test out your printer with.Please help,I have a important job to print for school.Its installed,and connected to the wall and the usb to the laptop,but I dont know what else to do,please HELP.I dont know if you need to know the brand of the laptop to help me,but if you do its the new MacBook.

Unhook the printer and unplug it. Wait 5 minutes then hook it all back up. This should clear the pause. Good luck!
