My dog keeps eating cat poop

My dog and puppy keep eating the cat poop out of the liter box.Can this harm them and why are they doing this?

Dogs eat poo in order to recycle nutrients and enzymes. So, she not getting something in her diet that she needs. Try switching dog foods or making your own. This will take a little effort. Your vet should be able to help you get the proportions correct.

take your dog for a walk and then tell someone in your family to clean it up and then when you come back put your dog into a big bag where it has holes and it can breath or put it in a cage or something.

Get a covered liter box. It is not healthy for your dog to let him keep eating the cat poop. Walmart has a nice covered liter box for under $15.

The Dog is missing nutrients that he may get from the cat poop that isn't in his regular diet. Try switching dog food brands or home-make-it. Dogs should never eat cat food because it will make them sick. If you have a cat and your dog throws up frequently, it is probably eating the cat food. Move the food to where the cat can reach it but not the dog. If this doesn't help and the dog keeps "Ralphing" everwhere, take it to the vet.

well I really not so sure about it dogs make take variety of intakes and more often they use to take non vegetarian food like my <a href= "http://www.10facts.com/article/Home/Pets/Dogs/French-Mastiff.html">french mastiff</a> is so cu restive about it.

Helping is wrong. Feeding a dog cat food is bad because cat food has more fats in it then dog feed which can lead to obesity for your dog. All dogs eat cat poop its normal. It can't really hurt them but I'd find a way to keep the dog from getting to it to be safe. Good luck!

move the litter box into a room with a gate so only the cats can get to it buy a gate that will fit in the doorway of the room you chose

Feed them cat food. They probably like that better than the dog food. Hope it works. Or maybe they just really, really love the cats! Jk. Feeding them the cat food should work. Its all meat after all, doesn't matter whose picture is on the package. Alternatively, you could feed them a different brand of dog food or the best is to provide them with fresh meat and vegetables (dogs eat vegetables boiled or raw).
