AVG Firewall cannot be enabled on Windows 7

I upgraded to Windows 7 now, but the AVG Firewall doesn't work.

It's not really a direct answer, but I suggest to you that you instead get Avast Anti-Virus. They have a free version like AVG, and I used to be a stead-fast AVG enthusiast myself, but ever since 8.0 it's just gotten to bulky. It's all colorful now, and it's a massive memory and CPU hog, and nothing is where it should be. Avast is small, sleek, completely autonomous, and works wonderfully. Oh and Avast has been working for Windows 7 since the 2nd beta release of it.

As you already upgraded to Windows 7, I believe MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) could work better than AVG and the it's absolutely free. Since it's a product from Microsoft, so I believe it could work with your Windows system seamlessly.

A friend of mine just tried MSE a couple of days ago, he told me that one was FAST in scanning and you can hardly feel it is running, that means it will affect the speed of your system less.

Check it out here, if you are interested:

The only reason that MSE was fast is because it has the quick scan option as a default and many scanners have this option (such as AVG) you just need to select it. As for the question it seem that you have already bought a real version of AVG if it has the firewall, so you are better off asking the free tech support AVG has.

If you have a requirement for a small quantity of firewall, then we can meet the requirement in cities where our branches are based – Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, New Delhi, Chennai & Hyderabad. For large quantities, we can rent a firewall anywhere in India.
